ChromaKit has no accounts, no image uploads and no trackers — this policy explains what that means for your data.

Overview
ChromaKit is a free, static website for generating color palettes. All color generation happens in your browser with JavaScript: we operate no backend servers, no databases and no account system, so there is no data for us to collect or process on our side. This page describes exactly what does — and does not — happen with your information when you use the site. You can read more about the project on our About page.
Information We Do Not Collect
Because ChromaKit is a static site with no server-side processing, we do not collect, store or transmit personal information. Specifically:
- No accounts. There is no registration or login, so we never ask for your name, email address or password. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No transmitted forms. Anything you type into the tools — prompts, color values, settings — stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
- No analytics. We run no analytics scripts and do not measure, profile or track visitors.
- No tracking cookies. We do not set cookies of any kind, and we show no advertising.
Local Storage
Your browser's localStorage is used to remember two small pieces of information, both kept on your own device:
ck-theme— stores your light or dark theme preference.ck-saved-palettes— stores the palettes you save, so they are still available the next time you visit.
These values exist only in your browser, are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and can be removed at any time — either by clearing site data in your browser settings or by using the tool's "Clear" buttons, which delete your saved palettes from the generator. Clearing them is permanent; because the data lives only on your device, we cannot recover it.
Image Processing
The image color extractor runs entirely on your device. When you select an image, it is read locally with standard browser APIs (FileReader and Canvas) and sampled in your browser to identify its dominant colors. Images are never uploaded or transmitted anywhere — no server is involved, and we never see, receive or store the files you choose.
Third-Party Links
ChromaKit may link to third-party websites. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the content or privacy practices of those sites. If you follow an external link, please review that site's own privacy policy.
Children's Privacy
The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children — because no personal information is collected at all.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the site. Updates are published on this page with a new "last updated" date, so please check back occasionally. This policy works alongside our Terms & Conditions and our Disclaimer, which describe how the service may be used and what its limits are.
Contact Form
The Contact page includes an optional form that works entirely in your browser. When you submit it, the name, email address, purpose and message you typed are assembled locally into a draft email in your own mail app — the website itself has no backend, transmits nothing and stores nothing. If you then choose to send that draft, your email provider delivers it to the contact address below, exactly as if you had written the email yourself. If you prefer not to use the form, you can email us directly instead.
